Government allocates Land to Cayman Islands Sport Shooting Association

Grand Cayman (Cayman Island): The Cayman Islands Government has given the Cayman Islands Sport Shooting Association a lease to 83 acres of Crown property adjacent to the old quarry in the High Rock so that they could shift their shooting academy, known as Gun Club to a secluded area from the busy area near Owen Roberts International Airport.

According to the association’s President Eddie McLean the entire property will not be developed, and the extra land will allow a buffer zone to curb noise hazards and also give room to stray bullets to stay within the ground to avoid them causing any danger to people or property.

The new location would will have facilities in skeet, trap, pistol and rifle sport shooting to its members and also would be able to host international events.
