Brisbane: After the ‘pull-off’ of Ricky Ponting from the ODI squad, the Tasmanian seems to have taken the verdict in his stride.
The ‘dumped’ ponting mentioned quite heavy heartedly, that he wouldn’t want to continue playing any more one day’s for the Aussie team, rather he would like to concentrate completely on his test career.
Ponting has so far played 375 one day internationals and won three world cups captaining Australia towards victory in the year 2003 and 2007.
In a press conference in Sydney, the very disappointed Ponting mentioned that though his performance in the series have been not great, he still knows that he is a potential player and given by his performances, it was quite expected that he would be asked to come down the ladder.
The legendary cricketer’s immediate focus as of now is to pin on earning a place in the test team for the tour of the West Indies in April. He has always maintained the fact that one of his remaining goals is to be a team mate in the ‘Ashes Series’ in England.
Even though this happened, there remains no doubt for the fact that he has by far been one of the best players in the team and has had a great track record to prove it.
