India need 290 runs to win in Brisbane

Brisbane: With Sri Lanka and India at daggers point today, the match seems to be picking up already. After, Jayawardene of Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat; Openers Jayawardene and Dilshan got a decent fifty in the eighth over.

Dilshan had only reached his 26th fifty that; Sehwag dived and caught Mahela Jayawardene off Irfan Pathan.

Our very own Tendulkar put up a good show as well by dismissing the lion of Srilanka, Sangakkara off Umesh Yadav. Also, Ravi Chandran Aswin gave a fight to Lankan’s when he had Dilshan behind by Patel.

Chandimal and Thiramanne were on a strong 72 run panel when Irfan Pathan clean bowled Chandimal with a Yorker, as Lankan’s lost their fourth wicket.

Half-centuries made by Lahiru Thiramanne and Dilshan and a final unbeaten 49 by Angelo Matthews brought Lanka to 289/6 against India in the 8th ODI of the tri-series at the Gabba in Brisbane today.
