Volvo signs three-year contract with PGTI

New Delhi: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) signed a strategic partnership agreement with Volvo Auto India which will be a three-year association starting this year. Volvo will host the first ‘Volvo World Golf Challenge’ later this year. Padamjit Sandhu, director, PGTI and Tomas Emberg, managing director, Volvo Auto India announced the partnership.

 

“We have been the official partners of the Avantha Masters from the past 3 years. Nowwe have joined hands with the PGTI and we are looking forward to it”, said Emberg.

 

Top two players from the Volvo World Golf Challenge will participate in the world championship.

 

Padamjit Sandhu said, “It is a very exciting time for PGTI, with this partnership we expect the sport to develop the sport. Competitions like Volvo World Golf Challenge will bridge the gap between players.”

 

He added “This tournament will see around 800 players, we expect a lot more in the coming years.”

 

Vikrant Chopra who was present at the event said, “Corporate funding is very important for every game. We can take the example of cricket and can see the difference corporate like these have made the game. With the involvement in our game I hope to see the same thing happening to us.”
