Cricket’s loss is hockey’s gain: Sahara to renew hockey contract

New Delhi: Hockey India may just gain from Sahara breaking their ties with cricket. Sahara India is all set to renew their sponsorship deal for five years with hockey. Hockey India is expecting a hike as well in the new contract. Earlier Sahara announced that they will no longer sponsor Indian cricket team after several disputes between them and the BCCI.

Sahara started sponsoring hockey team from 2003. The contract ended 8 years later in 2003. Both the men and the women team will be sporting the Sahara logo in the upcoming Olympic qualifiers.
