Australian Open: Sania, Vesnina in quarterfinals

Melbourne: Sania Mirza and her partner Elena Vesnina defeated Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia and Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the USA 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets in the ongoing Australian Open Tennis Tournament. The Indo-Russian pair thrived on the mistakes done by their opponents in 1 hour and 21 minutes.


The match saw lots of unforced errors by both pairs and in the end it was Mirza and Vesnia who controlled the match better. They converted 6 of the 10 break points that they got.


They now will face the 2nd seeded pair of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond.
