New Delhi: Gurbani Singh carded two birdies and just one bogey to score a total of 218 to win the Usha Northern India Ladies & Junior Golf Championship here on Thursday. She was the only one to card a sub-par round on the day, one under 71.
Trailing behind by just two strokes was Ridhima Dilawari who finished with a total score of 220. Her score at the end of day today was one over 73 with a string of three birdies and four bogeys. Gurbani Singh, who tops the current Order of Merit list of the IGU Ladies Amateur Golf Tour repeated her Day 1 stellar performance to rise up the leader board on the final day as well, winning on her home ground.
The third position was snatched by Astha Madan who ended with a final score of 226. Aditi Ashok, Vidushi Sinha and Sifat Alag shared a joint fourth position with a total score of 227.
Other notable names in the top 10 included Tvesa Malik (228), Amandeep Drall and Gaurika Bishnoi (231), who finished at 5th and a joint 6th position respectably. This was the first tournament of the Usha Ladies & Junior Golf Open Championship played over 54 holes, over 3 days, in stroke pay format. Gurbani Singh will be the one look forward to in the upcoming zonal tournaments.
