India Open: Sindhu loses in 1st round, Kashyap into 2nd round

New Delhi: India’s PV Sindhu lost to World No. 3 Shixian Wang of China in the first round of women’s singles of $250,000 India Open Super Series badminton here on Wednesday.

Sindhu, who had 3-0 win-record over Wang, was ousted her rival 15-21, 21-12, 10-21 in an hour and nine minutes.

Meanwhile, in men's singles, Parupalli Kashyap defeated Zhengming Wang of China 21-12, 17-21, 21-12 in an hour. In the second round, Kashyap will meet R.M.V. Gurusaidutt, who got the better of Chinese Taipei's Tien Chen Chou 17-21, 21-16, 21-17 in 58 minutes.
