New Delhi: Olympic Silver medallist Vijay Kumar of Army won gold in 25m Rapid Fire pistol event at the 57th National Shooting Championship while Punjab's Man Singh captured the yellow metal in the men's skeet shooting.
Andhra Pradesh shooter Rashmi Rathore won the Gold in women's skeet event at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, New Delhi here on Saturday.
Vijay shot gold with a fantastic score of 30 hits in the finals while Akshay Suhas of Maharashtra won the silver with 28 hits followed by Army's Pemba Tamang, who bagged a bronze with 22 hits in the final of the event.
Delhi's Jaspal Rana was on the forth place with 13 hits and a qualification score of 559. Vijay, Suhas and Pemba shot 559, 568 and 580 score respectively in the qualification round but the positions changed after the finals.
Vijay Kumar said, "I am regularly participating in different competitions to improve and maintain my performance."
In the Skeet Shooting men's event, Man Singh of Punjab sealed a gold medal while Chattisgarh's Arozepal Sandhu won silver and Punjab's Shreyan Kapur claimed bronze in the finals of men's skeet shooting competition. They scored 120, 119 and 116 score in the qualification round.
In the junior category of this event, Angad Veer Singh of Punjab (112) won gold, Anantjeet Naruka of Rajasthan (110) won silver and Karam Sukhveer Singh claimed broze medal with 105 points.
