Haddin preferred over Wade, Clarke to lead against India

michael-clarke2The Australian side must have regained some confidence out of the series win against England after losing the Ashes comprehensively. The Aussies are suppose to travel all the way to India to play seven one-day matches and a lone T20 starting from 10th October.

Aussies have announced their squad for the tour of India and wicket-keeper Mathew Wade has failed to keep his spot as the selectors have gone back to Brad Haddin to do the glove work for the series. Fawad Ahmed have also been dropped from the side and Xavier Doherty seems to have taken his place in the squad.

The rest of the squad remains pretty much the same with Michael Clarke even after suffering from a back injury has been named in the squad and is suppose to lead his side. However his availabilty in the playing eleven is subject to his fitness.

Clarke was, however, hopeful that his recurring back problem would heal in time for him to make the tour. The Australians have shown good form in one-day series against England and hopes to put up a fight against India in the upcoming series.

Darren Lehman, known to be expressive and did not hide his emotions after losing the Ashes will not be travelling with the side. In his absence the Australian fielding coach Steve Rixon will take charge of the team. Darren Lehmann is said to be rested for the series against India and will be back in the next series.
