PV Sindhu cruises into Malaysia Grand Prix final

p v sindhu in action against Taerattanachai in malaysian openKuala Lumpur: India's rising badminton star P V Sindhu got the better of Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand to storm into the the final of the women's singles event at the Malaysia Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament on Friday.
 

Top seeded Sindhu beat her opponent 21-17 21-11 in just 34 minutes in the semifinal clash. The 17-year-old Indian shuttler will now face fifth seeded Gu Juan of Singapore in the final.


Sindhu didn't have an ideal start as in the first game, she was trailing her rival by 10-16 margin at one stage. But she got her act together to clinch six straight points to level the score at 16-all before surging ahead to open a 19-16 lead. While Taerattanachai could win a point more, Sindhu sealed the game at 17.


However, there was no stopping the Hyderabadi in the second game. She not only opened up a 4-0 lead but kept on increasing the gap to finally close the issue comfortably.
