BCCI suspends Praveen from Vijay Hazare Trophy

praveen-kumarNew Delhi: India’s pace bowler Praveen Kumar has been suspended from taking part in the upcoming inter-state Vijay Hazare Trophy matches because of his on-field indiscipline with the opposition team’s batsman in Corporate Trophy match recently.

The match referee Dhananjay Singh described Praveen as 'mentally unfit' as he lost his composure at the least of provocation and reported the incident to the BCCI. Praveen bowled a short ball to Ajitesh Argal of Income Tax and when he went to umpire for referring whether it was a no-ball or not, Praveen started abusing him. Praveen’s behaviour was not as it should be of an international player.

On Saturday, BCCI issued a show-cause notice to Praveen for his indecent behaviour in a Corporate Trophy game. They asked him to explain the cause of his behaviour on the incident that happened during the game in Raipur last week, where he was playing for ONGC.

Praveen, who was named in Uttar Pradesh's 15-member squad for the Vijay Hazare trophy, has now been dropped from the squad.

Not long ago, in a match, Praveen had some quarrels with the fans who came to watch him and with the local authorities of the ground staff.
