Shagun wins two silvers at Asian Shooting C'ship

shagunPatiala: India's Shagun Chowdhary won the silver medal in the women’s individual trap event after she fired a total of 83 (64+19) at the 2nd Asian Shooting Championship here.

Alhawal Sarah of Kuwait won the gold medal after she shot 84 (61+23) while the bronze went to Sirani Epideh of Iran who fired 78 (64+14).

However Choudhury (64), Varsha Tomer(59), Seema Tomer(54) piled up a total of 177, to help India annexe the team event.

The silver medal was won by Iran's Sirani Epideh (64), Ranjbar Sari Nargis (55) and Amiri Behzadi Fatemeh (52) for a total of 171, while the bronze was won by Thailand's Srisongkram Janejira(58), Kitcharoen Chattaya (50) and Viravaidya Nanpapas (48) with a total of 156.

In the Maharaja Yadavinder Singh Memorial Indian Open Shotgun Championships, Federica Caporuscio shot 68 to win the gold medal, whileChaudhary won her second silver of the day with a score of 64. The bronze went to Iranian Sirani Epideh (64).

The team gold was won by Iran's Sirani Epideh (64), Ranjbar Sari Nargis (55) and Amiri Behzadi Fatemeh (52).

The silver went to India's Varsha Tomar (59), Shikha Badhuria (55) and Seema Tomer(54).
