Ishant unfit ahead of first set, Dinda gets call-up

New Delhi: Ashok Dinda has got a last minute call-up to join the India squad for the first Test against England at Ahmedabad as Ishant Sharma is reportedly down with viral fever and is expected to miss the match.

Dinda got the call while boarding a flight to Kolkata from Chandigarh after Bengal’s disastrous Ranji Trophy outing against Punjab where they lost by an innings and 27 runs.

There has been no official confirmation from the BCCI yet on the issue and a cloud of uncertainty looms over Dinda as to whether he would replace Ishant in the side or has been asked to join the squad just as a cover to the lanky pacer from Delhi.
