Singapore GP: Di Resta finishes best ever fourth placeSingapore: Paul di Resta registered his career best fourth place at the Singapore Grand Prix here on Sunday.

Resta who earlier best was a sixth place finish helped his team earn 12 points from the race and take a 21 points lead over Williams in the seventh position on the constructers table.

His team-mate Nico Hulkenburg who unfortunately could finish among points with his 14th place finish however set the fastest lap of the race with1min 51.033secs.

Di Resta who started the race from the third row on the grid was helped by Lewis Hamilton who retired from the race due to a mechanical failure in the gear box.

He kept the fight on with Pastor Maldonado, but a hydraulic failure saw the latter pull out of the race promoting the Indian car to fourth position.

Resta gave a challenge to Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and was on the third spot for few laps but then had to eventually settle for the fourth position.

Meanwhile, double defending champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull won the race followed by Jenson Button of McLaren and championship leader Alonso.
