Prayag United sign Subrata Pal, Baldip and Gourmangi

subrata-palNew Delhi:  Prayag United Sports Club officially signed national football champions, numero uno goalkeeper Subrata Pal, ace defender Gouramangi Singh and central midfielder Baldip Singh for a period of two years on Tuesday, as part of their ongoing efforts to build one of the best football teams in India.

Subrata Pal and Baldip Singh joins Prayag United following their transfer from Pune FC along with Gourmangi Singh, who was previously associated with Churchill Brothers SC. The official signing happened at the Indian Football Association, West Bengal office in the presence of Nawab Bhattachrya, Director Prayag United SC, Alokesh Kundu, General Secretary, Prayag United SC and other key IFA officials.

Subrata Pal and Gouramangi Singh were part of the squad that brought victory to the National team at the Nehru Cup for three successive years. Gourmangi Singh will act as a shield to goalkeeper Subrata Pal to skilfully control the game. And Baldip Singh will add to the game strategy and strength at the mid field along with Carlos Hernandez. Looking at the relative strengths of the team, Prayag United SC is set for a winning game against Peerless SC tomorrow in the Kolkata Premier League.

Avik Bagchi , Football Secretary, Prayag United SC said, “Subrata and Gourmangi are two of the most skilled Indian footballers and their experience will be a big add on for our team.  Prayag United has been developing a strong defence and these players are of great value addition. Both of them make a very strong combination and overall they have a good coordination with the team. We are looking forward to achieve triumphant moments ahead.”

Speaking on the occasion, Nawab Bhattacharya, Director,Prayag United SC said, “ Subrata Pal is the ace goalkeeper in  the Indian football scenario and Gourmangi Singh is well known for his defending acts. Along with them we also have midfielder Baldip Singh to add to the strength of the team and cover positions. We are happy to have them aboard with us. They will surely play the local matches but we are aiming for the Federation Cup with the players of their likes.”He further added, “Our match against Peerless SC tomorrow is the last game prior to the onset of the Federation Cup and hope to have these boys play tomorrow .We have to showcase a composed game to be able to win the Federation Cup. It is a title different from regular games hence greater effort is required.  Moreover it is essential to enjoy the game as well.”
