Canberra: Dipika Pallikal registered a scintillating 3-1 victory over sixth seeded Camille Serme of France in the $5,000 Australian Squash Open, to storm into the quarterfinals here today.
Pallikal, who entered the tournament seeded 11th showed great character to come from behind to win 3-11 11-9 11-9 11-6 to advance to the last stage.
The 20 year old Indian taking on one of the strong contenders lost the first comprehensively but then came back strongly to win the second and the third game with an identical scoreline.
Maintaining her tempo, she dictated terms in the fourth to pull off a major upset in the tournament.
Pallikal will now face American Amanda Sobhy, who beat World No 3 Jenny Duncalf in the group of 16.
