London Olympics: Saina loses in semis, will fight for bronzeLondon: Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal found it tough against the world number one player, Yihan Wang of China as she lost her semifinal match in straight games 21-13 21-13 at the London Olympics.

Saina Nehwal fought valiantly against Wang but the Chinese ensured that there was no coming back in the match for the fourth seeded Indian.

Saina Nehwal earlier created history by becoming the first Indian shuttler to reach the semi-final stage of the Olympics after defeating Tine Baun of Denmark in the quarter-finals.

Wang started the game well and won the first game with ease. Her long reach ensured that there was no open space for Saina to capitalize on.

Saina in the second game looked in better rhythm and took the lead at the half-way stage with score at 11-10 in her favor. But Wang came back strongly with her smashes and deft touches. She gained the lead and the errors started creeping from Saina’s racquet.

Saina Nehwal will now play for the bronze medal against the other losing semifinalist.
