New Delhi: Sahara Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya has urged his team to raise their performance if they want to be more successful and start finishing on podium.
The liquor baron Mallya believes that they fell short of their target at the recently concluded Canadian Grand Prix where the drivers could not finish a top 10 finish. Paul di Resta ended on 11th where Nico Hulkenburg finished a spot behind Resta.
"Canada showed again Formula One is hard to predict at the moment. But while it is hard to predict, we still need to lift our game, especially if we want to target fifth or sixth in the constructors' championship,” said Mallya.
Mallya said that they did have some good starts but then the other teams have done exceptionally well.
"The teams we were compared with in the past few years like Sauber and Williams have been on the podium, and I am sure our time will come, as long as we get things right,” added Mallya.
"It's something we need to do sooner rather than later because we are quickly approaching the midway point of the season. I hope we can recapture our form in Valencia, return to the points and demonstrate our potential," said Mallya ahead of this week’s European grand Prix in Valencia.
