Bowlers put India A on top after first day’s play

Bowlers put India A on top after first day’s playKingstown: India A bowlers once again bowled beautifully to restrict West Indies A for 212 for the loss of eight wickets on the first day of the second unofficial Test match between the two sides.

The home team which lost the previous match decided to bat first on a green pitch and lost two early wickets. Justin Guillen got out to Shami Ahmed on the individual score of 5. Indian leg-spinner Rahul Sharma who had a good outing in the last Test continued his good run as he took the second wicket for the visiting side.

West Indies A opener, Kraigg Brathwaite ensured that wickets were not falling from both ends as he played cautiously in the morning session. They however, continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and never got the momentum going in their innings.

All the Indian frontline bowlers picked wickets and never let the home team off the hook. Brathwaite who took a lot of balls for his unbeaten 66 got some good support in Veerasammy Permaul who scored a quick-fire 36 before getting out to Dinda.

Brief Score:

West Indies A first innings: 212/8 (Brathwaite 66*, Permaul 36, Dinda 2-22)
