French Open: Bhupathi-Paes cruise into semisParis:  Mixed doubles pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza made a huge stride towards winning the 2012 French Open after they beat Kveta Peschke and Mike Bryan to move into the semi finals of the event played here yesterday.

The ace Indian pair who is seeded seventh in the tournament made it to the penultimate round of the round without much trouble and beat the Czech-American pair 6-2, 6-3 in a match that lasted for less than an hour.

Bhupathi-Sania converted four of the five breakpoints they got whereas saved all four.

After their quarter finals performance, the Indian duo now look to win their second grand slam title together and after winning the Australian Open back in 2010. They would now face the winner of the other quarter-final match between the pairs of Galina Voskoboeva/Daniele Bracciali and Nuria Llagostera/Oliver Marach.

Meanwhile, Leander Paes, partnered by Elena Vesnina of Russia is would clash against top seeded Liezel Huber and Max Mirnyi in another quarter final face-off.
