Kolkata: The Indian men's recurve team of Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar and Tarundeep Rai sailed into the final of the team event of the World Cup archery Stage 2 at Antalya in Turkey Friday.
According to information received here, the team edged past South Korea by a slender 225-224 points in the semi-finals and will play Britain in the final on Saturday.
Earlier, the Indian men beat the Netherlands in the quarterfinals 216-215 and Mexico in the pre-quarters 217-215.
The women's team comprising Bombayla Devi, Chekrovolu Swuro and Deepika Kumari, went down to Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals 210-223. Earlier, the Indian women won the opening round against Ukraine 221-216.
Both the Indian compound teams bowed out in the quarterfinal stage. The men went down to the US 232-234 while the women lost to Italy 223-232. (IANS)
