Doha: India's No. 1 snooker pro Aditya Mehta registered his second win at the 28th Asian Snooker Championships, beating Mubarak Alowais of Kuwait 4-0 here Sunday.
Playing well throughout the match, Aditya won with good safety play towards the end. His highest break during the game was 64 in frame 2.
On Saturday, he had defeated Pakistan's National Champ Muhammad Asif. The match was hard fought and Aditya won 4-2.
Initially trailing 1-2, the Indian pro soon recovered with breaks of 87 and 68 to go up 3-2. Both players missed a couple of chances in the last frame and it came down to a tactical battle of colours.
"It's a good confidence booster for me as these are one of the toughest matches of the tournament. Getting these matches out of the way early in the tournament would improve my chances as the competition progresses," said Aditya.
Aditya still has four more matches to go. He will now play against Karam Fatima of Syria on Monday. (IANS)
