Chetri to lead India in Four Nation Olympic Test Event

Chetri to lead India in Four Nation Olympic Test EventNew Delhi: Bharat Chetri will lead the 18-member Indian team while Sardar Singh will be his deputy in the Men Four Nation Olympic Test Event to be held in London from May 2-6.


Selection trials were conducted at SAI Centre, Bangalore on April 8 and 9 which was witnessed by Hockey India selectors B. P Govinda and Col. Balbir Singh, along with Government Observer Harbinder Singh.

The Four Nation Tournament will feature Australia, Germany, Great Britain and India. The participation in this tournament will not only give India an opportunity to play against higher ranked teams, who have also qualified for the Olympic Games, but also give the team unique exposure at the same hockey venue that will host the London Olympics.
The tournament will be played on the blue artificial turf with yellow balls. The pitch has pink runaways.
