Gagan Narang bags silver in Kuwait Grand Prix

Gagan NarangNew Delhi: Ace Indian rifle shooter Gagan Narang added second silver medal to his tally at the Amir of Kuwait International Shooting Grand Prix after he finished second in the men's 50m rifle three position.

Narang, who had already won a silver in the 10 metre air rifle, shot a total of 1165 (prone 395, standing 385, kneeling 385) in the 50m rifle three position Saturday along with the prize money of $3000.

Narang finished with the tournament with a total prize money of $6000.

Sanjeev Rajput, winner of bronze medal in the Men's 50m Rifle Prone event earlier, finished fourth today with a score of 1160. Although Rajput started with a fine score of 395 in the prone position but a below par 376 in standing costed him a podium finish, in kneeling he shot 389.

The gold medal was once again won by Hungarian Sidi Peter, his second gold of the tournament. Peter shot 1171 while the bronze medal was won by Serbian Nemanja Mirosavljev with a score of 1162.
