Kolkata: The I-League season commences after a break on 24th March and in the first match post break Prayag United host Mumbai FC at the Yuba Bharati Krinangan and are looking to avenge their 3-1 defeat suffered earlier in the season.
Prayag United are on 32 points from 20 games and sit 7th in the table while Mumbai FC are on 17 points from 20 matches.
Prayag United Coach Sanjoy Sen insisted Mumbai FC stay a tough nut to crack. “Mumbai FC are an unpredictable team. They have come up with some good victories in the I-League and have suffered defeats at the same time. There is no way we can predict a result but from our point of view, we are well prepared.”
For Prayag, Brasilian striker Joshimar and Kayne Vincent stay injured. It’s unlikely they would start from the kick-off but may come on later if the need requires. Add to that -- both Deepak Mondol and Arnab Mondal, also stay doubtful. Both are coming back from an injury lay-off and have resumed practice only from Friday.
Meanwhile, Mumbai FC have traveled to Kolkata with their full-strength squad and had a light practice session.
Sen added: "We may have lost to Mumbai FC in the I-League but we beat them in the IFA Shield. We are confident of a good result. A victory here would put us back in the title race as there is not much to choose from between the sides. There is only 5 points between us and the 2nd placed team at the moment. Anything can happen.”
