Indian Shooters allocated funds for training

Manavjit SinghNew Delhi: Four Indian shooters Abhinav Bindra, Manavjit Singh, Ronjan Sodhi and Shagun Chowdhary have been allocated funds under the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) scheme for their training ahead of the 2012 London Olympics. All the players have earned quota places and the funds were sanctioned after these two shooters prepared their coaching plans and submitted to Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports said an official press release from National Rifle Association of India.

 

The program of remaining shooters have also been approved funds under NSDF as they submitted their program in one group and funds would be released with the start of ISSF World Cup. The required ammunition for the coaching camps in India has been imported and is lying at the safe custody of the Sports Authority of India.

Abhinav Bindra is presently training in Germany and whereas Manavjit Singh and Ronjan Sodhi are in Italy for the last 10 days for training. Shagun Chowdhary also had a stint of training in Dubai for 8 days and will start her training schedule with ISSF World Cup, Tucson.
