Bhopal: Sanam Singh of Candigarh got the better of Shuichi Sekiguchi of Japan 6-1, 6-4 to win the $10,000 ITF Men's Futures tennis tournament at the Arera Club here on Saturday. This was Sanam’s second successive ITF title, as the 24-year-old youngster had won his first ttile as a professional in Chandigarh last week.
Sanam was leading 4-0 in the second set after winning the first, but allowed his opponent to hang on a little longer than expected. He had beaten the same Japanese opponent in the quarterfinals last week in Chandigarh for the loss of two games.It was the third singles title in the ITF circuit for Sanam who had won his maiden title in 2005 as an amateur.
