WSH finds itself in new trouble

New Delhi: After India qualified to the London Olympics, hockey has become the point of discussion in every corner of India. It is looking as if Hockey as a sport has kicked-off again and this time it is here to stay.

World Series Hockey (WSH) which will start from today will be banking on this India’s new found love for hockey and would be hoping that its inaugural tournament will be a success. WSH will see some of the best players and will be hoping to replicate the influence that IPL had on cricket.

Every hockey fan knows that it will not be easy for WSH to achieve that though. WSH has been in the thick of controversies from day one. The battle between the two hockey bodies, Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation is known to everyone.

The tournament is about to start later in the day and would have hoped for a good start, but it was never to be that as along with some of the national players who are in a big tussle, now the players from Army and Railways will also face a problem competing in the tournament. The players are not yet released from their individual organization.

The national players are already in a tough situation created by the two hockey bodies of the country and with other players finding difficulty to play the things is not looking good for the cash-rich tournament.
