Indian Wells (California): Defending champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia moved into the semis of the BNP Paribas Open after he defeated World Number 12 Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-3, 6-4 here on Thursday.
World number one Serb broke the Spaniard twice in the opening set and then in the ninth game of the second and then served for the match. He ran away with the victory with his first match point.
Djokovic would now face big serving John Isner of America who defeated Gilles Simon of France 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. This is the second time that World number 11 Isner is making a semi final appearance in an ATP World Tour Masters 1000.
