Another step crossed for Federer at Indian Wells

Indian Wells: Roger Federer defeated wild card entry Denis Kudla 6-4, 6-1 in a second round in the night match on centre court at the Indian Wells tournament late yesterday.

The third seed said that though he was feeling a bit sick, he wasn’t ready to quit the game and he further proved it by winning it.

Another step crossed for Federer at Indian WellsFederer who is at the moment travelling with his wife and two young twin daughters said that they are fighting something of their own in the family.

The flu rounds seems to be bothering the Federer family, as all of them have a bit of temperature and are not in the pink of their health.

Federer, who won Indian Wells three straight years from 2004-2006, advances to the third round where he will face hard-serving Canadian Milos Raonic, who beat Carlos Berlocq in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

It will be the first career meeting between the former world number one Federer and Raonic who has already won two singles titles this year.

When asked about the match, the Swiss Master said that he was upbeat about the match and thought that it would be some great competition.

Meanwhile Nadal, making his first appearance since losing to Novak Djokovic in a titanic Australian Open final in January, showed no signs of rust in beating Argentina's Leonardo Mayer 6-1, 6-3 in 75 minutes.
