Paris: India’s Leander Paes, Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza along with their respective partners won in first round of the doubles events at French Open tennis tournament on Wednesday.
Paes along with his Canadian partner Daniel Nestor had to fight it out against the Australian combo of James Duckworth and Chris Guccione 6-2 5-7 7-5, while Bopanna and Florin Mergea of Romania came from a set behind to win 5-7 6-3 6-4 against Serbians of Filip Krajinovic and Viktor Troicki.
Meanwhile, top seeded Sania Mirza and former women champion Martina Hingis had a cake walk against Germany's Julia Goerges and Barbora Krejcikova of Czech Republic, as reached the second round with a comfortable 6-3 6-0 win.
