Melbourne: India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Chinese Taipei partner Su-Wei Hsieh lost to Czech-Polish pair of the Kveta Peschke and Marcin Matkowski to make an exit from the Australian Open mixed doubles event here Wednesday.
Bopanna and Hsieh went down to Czech-Polish combination in straight sets (2-6 3-6) in 56 minutes.
In the first set, which lasted a mere 20 minutes, the Czech-Polish pair broke Bopanna and Hsieh twice and sent down 11 winners to set the tempo for the game.
The second set followed a similar script as Peschke and Matkowski clinched the crucial a break of serve to seal the issue in their favour.
