•    He was adjudged the Player of the Tournament in the 2010 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, where India won the Gold.

•    He Participated in Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament in Malaysia in the year 2006 and the team won Bronze Medal.

•    He Participated in SAF Games at Colombo in the year 2006 and the team scored 2nd position.

•    He participated in 7th Junior Challenge Open Men's at Poland 2006 and scored 2nd position.

•    He Participated in BDO Hockey Champions Challenge at Belgium 2007 and got Bronze Medal.

Profile:

Sardar Singh was born on 15 July, 1986 sometimes referred as Sardar Singh, is Indian professional male field hockey player. He is the captain of Hyderabad Sultans, and remained the captain of the Chandigarh Dynamos in the Premier Hockey League (PHL) in India. Sardar usually plays the center half position on the India national hockey team and Chandigarh Dynamos. Sardar has also become the youngest player to ever captain the India national hockey team in the 2008 Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament, and part of the 2009 team as well which won the cup, wherein he was a midfielder.

He plays for his native state of Haryana. He is also part of their police force and plays for their team. He is also a DSP for the state of Haryana. His brother Didar Singh also plays for Haryana and Chandigarh Dynamos. He is a drag flick specialist and also is a DSP.

The midfielder turned defender has been player of the Azlan Shah cup 2010.Hailing from a small hamlet in Haryana, Sant Nagar, and Sardar Singh is an important member of Indian national team for the last four years. The lanky Sikh matured from inside-forward to centre-half, a position he relished for long before asked to defend, as was the case in the 2010 Azlan Shah Cup.

He is the only player to play all the 26 matches in 2008. Under his captaincy, India reached the finals of the Azlan Shah Cup after 12 years’ gap, in 2008.

He scored the winning goal when India won the bronze in 2007 Azlan Shah Cup. After Silver in 2008, his luck with the Azlan Shah Cup continued in 2009 and 2010 as well - with gold.
