Tania Sachdev is an Indian chess player, who holds the titles of International Master and Woman Grandmaster. Tania won her first international title when she was just eight. She has already won the World and Asian junior titles. In 2008 she topped the Asian Chess Championship with 6 and half points out of nine rounds.
She was also listed in the Limca Book of Records as a world record holder for being the youngest to win the gold medal in an international event in the world. She made her final norm by drawing the 10th penultimate round with Hungary’s Lajos Seres. She was Asian U-14 junior and senior champion, and won the national Indian woman championship in 2006 and 2007, also being a runner up in 2008.She was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2009.
