Profile
He was born on 16th of January 1979 at Goa. Having developed an interest for the game at a very early age, Climax began playing Football when he was just 12 years old.
As a Football Player, Lawrence is a fierce Attacking Midfielder, but he is considered to be very patient and humble player otherwise. As quoted by Franky Barreto, a Senior Indian Football Player from Goa, for a long time Climax had to sit on the substitute bench at Salgaocar Sports Club, his first club. Still, Barreto says, he was never seen grumbling at Coaches and was always humble and respectful to them, learning from other players while they were playing.
In the year 2002, Stephen Constantine, the Coach of Indian National Football team invited Climax Lawrence to be a part of the National Football team. Since then he has constantly been playing for the Indian Football team, and has represented the team in a number of tournaments and matches. Climax has to his credit the feat of scoring the winning goal in the 91st minute of an AFC Challenge Cup match played against Afghanistan in July 2008. This goal scored by him got India a victory over Afghanistan by 1-0.
Climax Lawrence is currently playing for the Dempo Sporting Club. He plays as an Attacking Midfielder, and is considered to be one of the best Midfielders the Indian Football has currently got. Lawrence has represented various well known Football Clubs as well as the Indian National Football team in various International Football tournaments.
