Amity student to compete in 25 M Pistol event category at World University Games in Korea

Amrender Pal Singh during the Trials for World university GamesNoida: Amrender Pal Singh Chauhan- IV Semester student pursuing BA L.L B from Amity Law School, Noida has been selected to represent India in World University Games in 25 M Pistol event category which is scheduled at Guangzhou, Korea from 03 to 14 July 2015.

In India, the trials of World University Games for Shooting Event were held at PAP Shooting Range, Jalandhar last month wherein shooters from Universities across India participated.

The World University Games is an international multi-sport event organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The International sporting and cultural festival, is staged every two years in a different city around the world, representing both winter and summer competitions. It is second only in importance to the Olympic Games.

Amrender Pal has been rigorously trained at Amity Shooting Club under the professional guidance of Kunti Malik - Director, Amity Shooting Club since 2014. Since then, there has been no looking back by the young shooter who competed during “ISSF Junior Cup in Suhl Germany 2014”, “Shooting for Hopes Competition in Plzen Czech Republic 2014”, “Shooting World Championship in Spain 2014”.

Sharing his views on the recent achievement, Amrender Pal said, “He has a keen interest in shooting since his school days and has been participating in various Shooting Championships. Amity Shooting Club provided wings to his dreams and within a short span of three years he has been able to make a mark in National and International Shooting Competitions”.

He expressed his deep gratitude to his Institution and parents for his recent achievement and shared his conviction that he would not only bag the Gold Medal in the finals of World University Games but soon in Olympic Games as well.
