Indianapolis: United States Association Global Cricket Academy teams had mixed luck in their opening matches of their 20-match tour of Sri Lanka. While USAGC Academy Under-17 team defeated Bloomfield XI by 37 runs while Lumini College Under-19 defeated the USAGC Academy Under-19 squad by six wickets.
In the Under-19 match, USAGC Academy XI batted first were dismissed for 129 in 39.2 overs.Petamber Persaud top-scored with 27. Brian Jodhi (15), Sagar Patel (14) and Kishan Das (14) and Jasdeep Singh (13) were the other USAGC Academy batsmen who reached the double figure mark.
Mohamed Akram did not give any liberty to the USA batsmen as he captured four wickets for 22 runs in his tight bowling spell. Kanishka Maduwntha (2 for 26), Chanakaya Devinda (2 for 23) and Dhayan Vimukthi (2 for 18) gave him full support.
Chasing a victory target of 130 runs, Lumini College XI achieved it by scoring 133 for 4 in 17.2 overs.Their openers Raveesha Sathsara (29) and Janith Das (57, 5x6s, 1x4) stitched a valuable 87-run partnership for the first wicket. Ravindu Sanjeewa contributed 15 runs.
For USAG Academy Chetram Persaud was the most successful bowler as he bagged 3 for 35. Rohit Nagendra got 1 for 14.

In the Under-17 category limited overs match, USAGC Academy batted first and posted an impressive total of 170 in 40 overs. Aamir Salim (31, 2x4s, 2x6s), Pradeep Ravi (25) and Mohd Raafi Reza (20) batted well. Sanjay Stanly (19) and Atul Iyer (14) also made valuable contribution. Pindu (3 for 27) and Bhanakya (2 for 25) were the most successful bowler for Bloomfield XI.
Deadly bowling spell by Ajay, who was responsible for dismissal of five hosts batsmen and conceding 21 runs, bowled USAGC Academy to 37-run victory. Bloomfield XI were bowled out for 149 in 34.4 overs.
