Liverpool: India’s boxing sensation Vijender Singh, who’s preparing for his first fight in Liverpool recently revealed he is a huge Beatles fan and headed straight to The Beatles Story after a press conference in the city last week.
Vijender Singh, who’s undefeated in three fights with three knockouts, features on the undercard of the huge Saturday 13th February card at the Echo Arena, sat through the war of words at the press conference between WBO World Lightweight Champion Terry Flanagan and Derry Matthews and then headed to Liverpool’s world famous attraction.
After the tensions over the big fight eased, the 2008 Olympic Bronze medallist from India, decided to relax by taking a nostalgic trip through the history of the Fab Four at The Beatles Story at Albert Dock.
The attraction was recently voted as the best attraction in the North and Scotland in the UK at the Worldwide Attraction Awards, putting them in the same league as the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Magic Kingdom.
Beatles fan Vijender Singh said: “I’ve loved The Beatles for many years – their reach is global.
“It’s hard to go anywhere and find people who don’t know the band.
“This is my first time in Liverpool and it’s great to visit the Beatles Story and learn more about my musical heroes.
“I’m looking forward to returning to the city and hope as many fans as possible come and join me at the fight in February.”
Martin King, Director of The Beatles Story, said: “It has been great to welcome Vijender to the Beatles Story following his press conference in the city.
