Emotional emergence of Pro Wrestling League Logo – Ahead of the Launch

NEW DELHI: The story is about creation of the identity of a combat sport event. Still, far from the toughness of combat, the story flows like a river of emotions. This is the story of Pro Wrestling League logo creation.

LOGO epitomizes the heart, soul and spirit of an endeavor. The identity. The character.

World’s richest league in the oldest combat sport deserved truly special.

On this front, the Pro Wrestling League has added a golden chapter to the history of sports leagues even before its announcement to the world.

There were brainstorming sessions for designing of the logo. After much debate and discussions, the search for the creators of logo stopped at the gates of India’s premiere Delhi College of Art in New Delhi. And what a discovery!

There were some young students busy in an animated discussion as they worked on easels. They communicated in language of signs and gestures. These students were hearing-challenged. But each stroke emerging on the easel from the mastery of their fingers was a complete story in itself. Thoughts and expressions were flowing on canvas. And there emerged the core group of creators of PWL logo – all hearing-challenged female children.

The League will naturally have superstars of the sport – both from India and abroad. But when it comes to determination and grit, these youngsters are no less. They are champions in their own right.

They were full of spirit and belied the challenge they faced. And when they were told about our mission – the search for the logo, they happily agreed to use their creative talent to help us out. A logo for the League was born.

The logo captures 2 wrestlers in a fast paced action, where one is trying to pin the other on the mat. With this logo, the essence, fast pace and strength of the sport is captured in a beautiful creative manner.

"We have also completed the first step in our CSR mission – to provide platform for talent not just in sports, but to make sports the medium of progress in all walks of life," says Pro Wrestling League CEO, Mr Sunil Yash Kalra.

What could have been better example of CSR initiative than encouragement to these youngsters? But we will not stop just here.

Sport reflects various facets of human endeavour. Athletes, the main characters in the story strive hard for excellence on the field. Their blood, sweat and tears take them to the victory stand. Then there are people who act behind the scene for these athletes to perform. Coaches, trainers and doctors are silent performers behind every champ. Sports administrators, media and other officials also play a very crucial role.

These young challenged friends of sport have chipped in with their bit. A dozen creative minds worked overtime under the tutelage of their mentors in the college. For these mentors also it was a fruit of love and affection for their prodigious talent and way to give back to society, as they would say.
