Mumbai: Star Sports is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the upcoming league through a 360 degree campaign, building anticipation and excitement. One of the key elements of this multi-part advertisement campaign is the integration with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a movie directed by Kabir Khan, produced by Rockline Venkatesh and starring Salman Khan.
Promotional advertisement for Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Star Sports Pro Kabaddi features superstar Salman Khan and is interspersed with shots of his movie and clips of the best moves from Star Sports Pro Kabaddi season one. In the actor's unique style, he draws a parallel between the plot of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the spirit of Kabaddi. He claims that life is made up of two halves - one half is where we are at the moment, and the other is where we want to be. It's only a matter of will, skill and the grit to 'cross the line.' Similar to how a raider in the sport of Kabaddi crosses the line to bring home the win, the film revolves around how a man undertakes the task to get a young hearing impaired girl from Pakistan, who finds herself lost in India, back home by crossing the border.
The advertisement ends with Salman Khan promising an action packed weekend, encouraging viewers to watch Bajrangi Bhaijaan on July 17 and Star Sports Pro Kabaddi season two on July 18.
All the Kabaddi action will be live on Star Sports 2 and Star Sports HD2 in English; Star Sports 3, Star Sports HD3 and Star Gold in Hindi; Maa Movies in Telugu; Suvarna Plus in Kannada and Star Pravah in Marathi.
The second season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi launches on July 18 at NSCI in Mumbai. The league will look to build on from the success of its inaugural season; with a whopping 435 million viewers tuning in last year, making Kabaddi one of India's most followed sports. The first match will pit season one's finalists, defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers and the Mumbai Franchise, U Mumba.
