Chandigarh: Ahead of IPL season 8, Kings XI Punjab, today announced the launch of their new initiative called ‘Play for Kings - the road to Kings Cup’. The initiative will provide a platform to cricketers via digital and on ground selections, to earn a chance to play for the ’Kings Cup’ and ‘You v/s Star’ events organized by the franchise ahead of IPL 8.
This initiative is organized in association with TSD Corporation and the selection process will commence from 6thJanuary 2015, until 8th March 2015, based on digital activation along with on ground trials. Aspiring cricketers from all over India will be eligible to take part in the campaign.
In order to participate in the contest, the participants can register themselves online by uploading their performance videos at www.kxip.in/PlayForKings or www.PlayForKings.com. The participants can also link their videos on social media platforms and then invite Kings XI Punjab fans to vote for their favourite #PLAYFORKINGS participant. The videos will be shortlisted by program official coaches.
In addition, an on ground training and selection camp will be held for 100 players shortlisted from all the entries. The top 100 entries will be further streamlined and final 32 will be selected who will play in the ‘Kings Cup’. As a part of the gratification, the winning team will further earn a chance to participate in ‘You vs. Star’ activation where they will get an opportunity to bowl or bat against their favorite Kings XI Punjab cricketing stars.

This will also allow us to further connect with our fans beyond the catchment area and make them a part of the Kings XI Punjab family.
