Yuvraj Singh to hold a charity auction dinner for ‘YOUWECAN’

New Delhi: After a smashing knock at the bicentenary match at the Lord’s, India’s middle order batsman, Yuvraj Singh is all set to play his role to knock out the evils of the gruelling disease Cancer. With the support from his fans from all over the United Kingdom, Yuvraj Singh is holding a charity auction on 14th July, 2014 at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

The auction lot will include exclusive cricket memorabilia such as Sachin Tendulkar’s ‘t-shirt’ from his 200th Test match, 2011 World cup winning medal along with a chance to win a dinner date with Yuvraj and a special practice session with the Indian cricketer himself. The proceeds from the auction will go to Yuvraj Singh’s cancer charity ‘YOUWECAN’, which aims to create awareness around the early detection of cancer and organises free screenings for the cancer patients.

The auction dinner will also be attended by Yuvraj’s contemporaries like Virat Kohli and the god of cricket himself, Sachin Tendulkar who has been Yuvraj’s idol and mentor all these years. The other cricketers who will be supporting this endeavour includes the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly.

Sharing his plans for the growth of ‘YOUWECAN’, Yuvraj Singh said, “I have always believed that no matter how hard a battle, if you have the will, you can win it. It was due to this will and the love and support of all my friends, family and fans that I survived cancer. With ‘YOUWECAN’, I want to reach out to all those people who are suffering from cancer and often feel the lack of support in their fight. I am sure with the proceeds of this auction, we will be able to support our agenda of early detection, awareness and removing the stigma around cancer.”

The auction dinner will also witness a special act by India’s most popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma who is flying to London especially for the charity dinner to extend his support to Yuvraj and his charity ‘YOUWECAN’. The event is being hosted by Off’Spin Sports and Entertainment of India and CSM Sports and Entertainment, UK.
