Nike organizes its first ever 4K ‘Night Run’ at IIT Powai, Mumbai

Mumbai: Nike today ended this year’s popular Nike Outrun series with it’s first-ever ‘Night Run’ at Mood Indigo, the cultural fest of IIT Powai, Mumbai. Indian Tennis player and Nike athlete Kyra Shroff flagged off the race, while running enthusiasts and celebrities Milind Soman and Gul Panag ran alongside 1300 young runners at the 4K ‘Night Run’ college race.


Speaking at the event, Nike athlete Kyra Shroff said, “I am really excited to be here at the Nike Outrun. This is a great platform for first-time runners to begin running and fall in love with the sport. It’s a great way to add running to the cultural fest to truly connect with the youth today.”


Across the Nike Outrun series and the three cultural fests which took place at N.M College, Sophia’s College and IIT Powai, Nike has connected with over 2800 young runners. In the Nike Outrun at Mood Indigo, Anil Yadav of Utkarsh Junior College and Rizwana Kakeri from S.B Keer Law College, Ratnagiri won the race while IIT Powai, Mumbai collected the most number of points for having the largest number of runner participating from their college.

Ltd. said, “The Nike Outrun series at college fests is a great way to introduce running to the youth while also making it fun by pairing it with the overall cultural fest. The 4K night race was a central event of the Mood Indigo festival, giving runners a chance to represent and run and earn points for their college Prior to the race, Nike organized a special warm-up session by renowned athlete and Nike+ Run club coach Melwyn Crasto.
