Kozhikode: Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) in association with Pinkathon, India’s first and largest women’s 10km running event, is organizing MegaPink Calicut – a multi-city run for women’s fitness. MegaPink Calicut - 3 km run will be held on Sunday, 24 November 2013 at 6:30am from Mananchira Square.
The objective of the MegaPink run is to promote healthy lifestyle and fitness for women. The Calicut Marathon Committee of IIM Kozhikode collaborated with Pinkathon to launch the Calicut chapter Of MegaPink. Over the past four years, IIM Kozhikode’s flagship event, Calicut Marathon has unfurled the true colors of the vibrant city of Calicut. Further, it holds a unique place by being a marathon organized to promote a social cause focusing on critical issues of women empowerment, rights of differently-abled people and waste management in the past.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIMK, said, “IIMK is a school of aspirations and inclusivity is our institute’s core strength. Our students are the leaders in the making who understand the need to support social causes for the betterment of society and become global leaders in the true sense.”
The main motto of MegaPink is, ‘Never Give Up!’ The run will be held simultaneously in 40 cities across India and is promoted by celebrities such as Milind Soman and Gul Panag. It seeks to further the cause of women’s fitness with special emphasis on raising awareness on breast cancer.
MegaPink is open to both men and women, the participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher certificate. Interested participants can register online at www.megapink.in before 14th November 2013.
