Mumbai: Smaaash, a home to highly immersive and interactive gaming simulators, played host to Dale Steyn from the Sun Risers Hyderabad this afternoon. The cricketer spent the afternoon at Smaaash interacting with fans, playing the latest simulator games and also recorded for a video that will be used for gaming.
The bowler, who has the distinction of bowling the most number of dot balls this IPL season, was in a cheerful mood and mentioned that he was looking forward to the next few games at home with the Rajasthan Royals and the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. Steyn, who encountered a volley of questions from young fans at the event patiently, answered each of them. The cricketer also exhibited the kid in him when he was trying his hand at the various simulator games at Smaaash. “I went crazy trying my hand at the F1 simulator game. This is very exciting and I wish I had some more time to play these games. They make me feel like a kid all over again! But at the same time I feel that playing these games doesn’t just serve the purpose of recreation, they are also an innovative method of polishing your cricketing skills. This is one way of learning from the experts and what better way can there be to learn the nuances of cricket,” he said.
Following the interaction, Steyn also took some time out to record a special video that will be used as a part of the cricket simulator game at Smaaash.
On the occasion, Aniruddh Basu, Chief Marketing and Revenue officer - Smaaash, said, “With the ongoing IPL we are able to bring in some of the best names in international cricket to Smaaash. While this is a matter of great pride to us, what also gives us satisfaction is that we are spreading happiness at Smaaash – to just see the absolute delight and enthusiasm on the faces of each of these children while they interact with the cricketers is a joy. They are the future of Indian cricket and we are thrilled to provide a platform where they are able to meet their idols.”
