Pune: In an exciting three day BMX Flatland workshop in Pune, renowned Japanese BMX Flatland athlete Yohei Uchino aka Ucchie along with Indian BMX enthusiasts showcased their signature stunts, at Sinhgad Technical Education Society, on 12th June.
Red Bull’s BMX Flatland Workshop was an open invitation to BMX flatland enthusiasts in India to submit a video showcasing their unique flatland skills. Twelve shortlisted participants from across Mumbai, Pune and north-east India got an opportunity to learn and perform with Ucchie himself. This talented Red Bull athlete has become a common name amongst BMX communities around the world, and is constantly striving to make the BMX flatland scene popular.
For about two days, Ucchie met and discussed with BMX enthusiasts, the growing trend for the underground sport in India; and shared with them world-class insights and tips to better their technique. The intensive two day training culminated in an exciting BMX Flatland event on 12th June. Ucchie wowed the crowd with his signature move – the ‘Ucchie spin’, and he along with the participants displayed their incredible flatland skills. Baaz Khan from Mumbai was selected as one of the most promising and talented BMX flatland athletes. He has been rewarded with an opportunity of a unique learning experience to see how the sport has grown across the world at Red Bull Phenom.
