New Delhi: Displaying fine golfing skills and great understanding of the prestigious golf course of Delhi Golf Club and playing off a handicap of 5, Ravinder Kumar Verma triumphed in 0-15 category with a Gross score of 73 points to represent SilverGlades Delhi amateur team along with second placed Binit Rai Handa (H’cap 4) who scored 75 Gross points in the Louis Philippe Cup.
Delhi Golf Club saw over 125 amateur golfers vie for a place in the SilverGlades Delhi team that will represent the country’s original Golf’s IPL version - the Louis Philippe Cup. These players will be playing alongside professionals Rashid Khan, Shamim Khan and Himmat Singh Rai.
The club qualifiers held at Delhi Golf Club today is the one of the 20 amateur qualifying rounds to be held in the nine participating cities across India- Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon and Chandigarh and Greater Noida. Braving the chilly weather, Delhi's enthusiastic amateur golfers teed-off for a chance to be Rashid Khan, Shamim Khan and Himmat Singh Rai’s team-mate and play alongside India's top pro golfers on the first two days of the Louis Philippe Cup for the Pro-Am Title.
Scheduled to commence on Feb 11th to 16th, 2013 at the Jaypee Greens Golf resort, the IPL-style event, with its Rs. 1.20 crore prize money and city-based teams, this unique golf event, now in its second edition, has changed the way fans relate to Golf in India.
