December: Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence in association with Pathways World School, Aravali Retreat, kicks off its preparations for their first Invitational School T20 Cricket Tournament. The tournament which will be played in a T20 format will begin from December 7, 2012 and will witness participation from top level schools across Delhi/NCR region.
Speaking on the occasion, Yuvraj Singh, Indian Cricketer & Chairman, Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence said, “The aim of setting up this cricket academy was always to develop and promote talent at the grass root level. Through this tournament we aim to provide the budding cricketers, a unique platform to display their skills. I wish the teams all the very best and look forward to some great cricketing action.”
The tournament will be conducted in a league cum knock out format with six teams in total. The matches will be played at the Pathways World School, Aravali Retreat, Gurgaon over a period of five days starting December 7, 2012- December 11, 2012. The finals will be held on December 11, 2012. The participating teams include, Manav Rachna International School- Gurgaon, Amity International School-Gurgaon, Heritage School-Vasant Kunj, Modern School- Vasant Vihar, Pathways World School- Aravali and Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence.
Speaking of the initiative, Sarvesh Naidu, Executive Director, Pathways World School, Aravali added, “It is a pleasure to host a tournament of such stature in alliance with Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence. From the inception of YSCE in Pathways, we have been working on our common vision and goals to take the two organizations to great heights in every endeavor and this tournament is indeed a step closer in that direction.”
