Having a family member on the bag (as a caddie) can be quite relaxing and rewarding, too. While there’s quite a few family members doing duty as caddie this week, three stand out prominently.
Clad in almost similar ‘Loudmouth’ design are leader Phatlum Pornanong and her brother Pornpont, who is the caddie for the week. “He also travels on many of the LPGA events with me and having him around helps me stay relaxed,” said Phatlum after taking the lead on the second day.
Caroline Hedwall, considers her mother, Yvonne, as some kind of a lucky charm. “She was on the bag last year in Indian Open and she was again with me when I won the tournament on LET after coming back from injury this year and I hope things will happen now here,” she quipped.
The top Indian, amateur Aditi Ashok, has her father, Ashok as her caddie. “I took to golf because of him and having around him helps me a lot,” says the teenager, who has not only grown in the game, but also in confidence over the last couple of years and is India’s top amateur.
